Residential Tour to the Gardens of Yorkshire

4 - 7th July 2021

Staying in Harrogate, we will visit 7 gardens: Hardwick Hall, RHS Harlow Carr, York Gate, Burton Agnes Hall, Jackson’s Wold, Scampston and the Yorkshire Sculpture Park.

The Henleaze Garden Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month except for July and August.   Meetings feature expert speakers who cover a range of horticultural topics.  In December there is a members' only Christmas Event.

Meetings take place at: The Main Hall, St Monica's, Cote Lane, Westbury-on-Trym.

Doors open at 7pm  and the meetings start at 7:30pm.

Car parking is available on site.

Sales Table

At each monthly meeting, we have a Sales Table.  It works on a Bring and Buy basis:  members donate plants, divisions, seedlings  etc.     Before and after the lecture, other members have the opportunity to browse and buy.  In addition, the Organising Team buys wholesale bulbs in the autumn and spring to sell on to members.  Any profit made is used to boost Club funds.

The two residential trips are still scheduled to run in 2021. These are subject to the progress of the Government's Roadmap to ease restrictions and will be dependent on guidance on travel, visitor attractions and hotel accommodation at the time of travel.

As well as monthly meetings, the Club publishes a quarterly Newsletter, giving news and details of events, and "Garden Club News" is emailed to members each month.

Club members receive a 10% discount on plant purchases at the Brackenwood Garden Centre (see Useful Links above).

The Club has a membership limit of 230, which has now been reached for 2020.

For 2021, we have decided to defer membership renewal until appropriate. At that stage, subscription level for renewing membership will be in line with the number of meetings held.
