Welcome to the Henleaze Garden Club
Stumperies, Ferns and Shady Friends
12 October 2022
Bringing with him over 30 years of gardening experience and with a specialist knowledge of woodland plants, ferns and topiary, Andrew can shed some light on our shady places.
The Henleaze Garden Club meets on the first Wednesday of each month except for July and August. Meetings feature expert speakers who cover a range of horticultural topics.
Meetings resumed at St Monica's in May 2022. In parallel, a Zoom option is offered to members for most talks.
We have a Sales Table at several live meetings. It works on a Bring and Buy basis: members donate plants, divisions, seedlings etc. Before and after the lecture, other members have the opportunity to browse and buy. In addition, the Organising Team buys wholesale bulbs in the autumn and spring to sell on to members. Any profit made is used to boost Club funds.
We offer three day visits in June and July of 2022
We will be visiting Kew Gardens, Usk Open Gardens, and Iford Manor Estate and The Courts.
Currently there are no plans to run residential trips in 2022.
As well as monthly meetings, the Club publishes a quarterly Newsletter, giving news and details of events, and "Garden Club News" is emailed to members each month.
Club members receive a 10% discount on plant purchases at the Brackenwood Garden Centre (see Useful Links below).
Membership renewal for 2022 is complete. The club is now almost full, but there may be a few vacancies for new members.
